Well, after today everything goes back to normal for a while. No more Grammy talk and red carpet stalking.. which is quite sad for me. I thrive off this stuff!.. and I’m not even kidding. So Katy Perry was at the Grammys Sunday night (of course!), and I actually really liked her look! Some people have been giving her a hard time about the blue hair and blue dress that she wore.. but I personally thought it was fantastic! Definitely only something Katy could pull off! She also performed during the show and did absolutely amazing! I am pretty sure this was the first time she has performed since her big split with Russell Brand, but I might be wrong. Either way, she rocked it! Part Of Me was the song of choice, and it’s this strong “look at me now, I’m fine without you” kind of deal. Totally appropriate for the situation. So I actually am sad all of the Grammy madness is over.. a little blue you might say. So in honor of my mood and Katy’s blue get up, here are some of my current favorite beautiful blue hued items!
In Tennessee we have gotten stuck back in a wintery weather funk after having somewhat Springy temps.. I hate it. Every single bit of it. We have a Spring break trip to Florida planned and I am itching to get into a bikini! I really want these Sunpocket Matte Turquoise Sport Foldaway Sunglasses to go along with my beach attire! The blue shade just screams summer and beach babe! Plus, they fold up for easy storage in your suitcase or beach bag!
I am really into light chiffon-like tops right now. This Silence & Noise Cold Shoulder Button Down Shirt is so so pretty! I’m a big fan of the slit shoulders. It shows enough skin to make it sexy, but doesn’t go overboard. The color is gorgeous too! I’m always a little hesitant to buy blue tops because they tend to clash with jeans, but this would work great with the colored pants trend right now!
Blue is often frowned upon in the makeup world. Frosted blue shadow was huge in the 70s and 80s, and up until a couple years ago the color was considered a major faux pas. I think you have to be careful when it comes to blues.. but they are definitely wearable! Using MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream in 21 Turquoise as a thick liner would be a perfect example of how to rock the blue! I would probably line my eyes like normal and then go right above the upper line with this electric blue craziness! So pretty, and so fun!
Robin’s egg blue, sky blue, baby blue.. all lighter shades of the color, and I love them all! Softer blues are very elegant but still have a hint of perkiness. This Threadscence Fresh Air Bangle Set is so girly and would go with any flowing top this spring. When I look at these I picture dark washed jeans, a lace white top and cute brown sandals! Such a sweet little outfit that would go nicely with one of these bracelets or all four stacked on your wrist!
Blue nails are another love of mine! I have almost every possible blue you could imagine, but there’s no stopping there! Blue is a very soothing and calming color, and I find that to continue true through the lacquer I wear. I have told you guys before that my nails are a huge representation of my mood, and can effect how I feel. Two good coats of Essie’s Lapiz of Luxury would be excellent for a lazy Spring weekend when you just want to relax!
